Day 01: Airport / Nuwara Eliya - Approximate travel time 05-06 Hours
- Program is based on a morning flight arrival.
- Welcome at the airport by Helanka Vacations representative and transfer to Nuwara Eliya.
- Arrive and check into the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
- Rest of the day relax at the hotel after a long journey.
- Nuwara Eliya is a beautiful mountain station in Sri Lanka known for its incredible scenery and abundant tea plantations.
- Sometimes referred to as “Little England”, the city is well-kept and features British-style red-brick walls, mock-Tudor half-timbering, and an English country club atmosphere.
- The surrounding areas offer breathtaking views of valleys, meadows, mountains, tea estates, waterfalls, and greenery.
- Visitors can enjoy tea plantation tours, walks to Lovers’ Leap Waterfall, Hakgala Gardens, Seetha Amman Temple, Nuwara Eliya Buddhist Temple, and Galway’s Land National Park.
- Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 02: Nuwara Eliya Sites
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Start sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya by visiting the old brick Post Office, Hill Club, 18-hole golf course, racecourse, Gregory Lake, Victoria Park, and Hakgala Botanical Gardens.
- Hakgala Botanical Gardens, established in 1861, includes highlights such as the central pond, lower flower garden, rose garden, glass house, bulb garden, and upper flower garden.
- The garden features a beautiful collection of flowers such as Lilium, Watsonia, Gladiolus, Agapanthus, and Zephyranthes.
- The Badulla tree found here is said to have valuable medicinal properties.
- The garden is also inhabited by many bird species including wood pigeons, southern crow pheasants, Layard’s woodpeckers, fantail warblers, yellow-fronted barbets, and Tickell’s flowerpeckers.
- Visit Sita Amman Kovil, a small and beautiful kovil with statues of Rama, Sita, Hanuman, Lakshmana, and Sugriva.
- The stream beside the temple is believed to have once been the bathing place of Sita.
- Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 03: Nuwara Eliya / Ella - Approximate train journey time 02-03 Hours
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Proceed to Nanu Oya Railway Station to board the train to Ella. Train tickets are strictly subject to availability.
- The train journey is very pleasant, passing through beautiful mountains, countryside, rice fields, tea plantations, and cool climatic surroundings.
- You will pass the famous Nine Arch Bridge in Ella, located on the Demodara loop and spanning 91 meters at a height of 24 meters.
- The beautiful nine arches create a picturesque view surrounded by dense jungle and tea plantations.
- Arrive at Ella Railway Station, where you will be met by our chauffeur guide and transferred to the hotel in Ella.
- Rest of the day enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Ella.
- Ella is a charming hill country village known for natural scenery, tranquil atmosphere, tea plantations, waterfalls, and cool weather.
- At the edge of the escarpment, visitors can enjoy classic views of Ella Rock, Ella Gap, and the plains below.
- Overnight stay in Ella.

Day 04: Ella Site Visits
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Visit Little Adam’s Peak, also known locally as “Punchi Sri Pada”. It is 1,141 meters in height and shaped like a pyramid mountain opposite Ella Rock.
- Walk through lush green tea plantations, waterfalls, and paddy fields while enjoying the scenic surroundings.
- The climb usually takes around 35-45 minutes to reach the top through a zig-zag path.
- It is recommended to climb before sunrise, as it can get hot during the day. Always carry a water bottle.
- Walk along the Nine Arch Bridge and enjoy the famous railway surroundings of Ella.
- The Nine Arch Bridge spans 91 meters at a height of 24 meters and is surrounded by jungle, tea plantations, and beautiful mountain scenery.
- Visit Dhowa Rock Temple, a protected heritage site and hidden gem near Ella, dating back over 2,000 years.
- The temple features a partially finished standing Buddha statue carved into a rock and a shrine with beautiful frescoes from the Kandyan era.
- Visit Ella Rock, located close to Little Adam’s Peak.
- From the top of Ella Rock, enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape, Little Adam’s Peak, and Ella Gap.
- The Ella Rock hike may take up to 4 hours or more, and it is recommended to start before sunrise.
- Return to the hotel.
- Overnight stay in Ella.

Day 05: Ella / Colombo - Approximate travel time 05-06 Hours
- Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Colombo.
- Arrive and check into the hotel in Colombo.
- Evening set on a city tour in Colombo and enjoy the nightlife of the city.
- Colombo is Sri Lanka’s seaside metropolis, offering a mix of colonial buildings, modern skyscrapers, shopping areas, restaurants, and cultural attractions.
- Stroll through Pettah, Colombo’s main market, where visitors can experience gems, fruit and vegetable stalls, spices, and ayurvedic products.
- Visitors can also sample Colombo’s fine cuisine, from curries to seafood, in beachfront bistros and inner-city restaurants.
- Nature lovers can enjoy a walk along Galle Face Green or take a scenic train ride to Mount Lavinia Beach.
- Return to the hotel.
- Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 06: Colombo / Airport - Approximate travel time 01 Hour
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Start your city tour and shopping in Colombo.
- A drive through the city will take you to Fort and Pettah, the commercial areas of the city, and tree-lined Colombo 7 Cinnamon Gardens.
- Colombo 3, 4, 5, and 8 are prime residential areas of the city.
- Attractions include the Hindu Temple at Sea Street, the Dutch Church at Wolvendaal dating back to 1749, the historic Devatagaha Mosque, Independence Square, BMICH, Gangaramaya Temple, and Colombo Museum.
- Sri Lanka is renowned for Ceylon Tea, Ceylon Cinnamon, Blue Sapphires, spices, precious and semi-precious gems, and jewellery in silver, gold, and white gold.
- Time permitting, enjoy shopping around Colombo.
- Late in the afternoon, depart to the airport for your departure flight.
- End of the tour.
